What diverse, yet talented musicians entertained us tonight! Gilly Kemp started the evening with some of her lovely, memory evoking songs, followed by club new comer Al Kendrick, a singer/guitarist from Weymouth. A chance visit of Stef & Lionel from Yeovil, gave us a taste of their band, Homesick Gypsy – we could hardly turn them away even though they hadn’t book a spot!
We had two featured performers this evening, firstly the great Black Tulip ladies, Jane & Annie, along with Rod Jenkins. It was their first visit to the club & gave us a great set of Americana style folk. We also welcomed the awesome, award winning guitarist Will McNicol, who’s skill really left us lost for words.
Paul Openshaw headlined for us & certainly sent us home with smiles on our faces! With songs including those of a grandson with a bucket on his head, careing for worms, & grumbly-bottom neighbours, no-one seems safe from his wry sense of humour.
Thank you to all of you for giving us such an enjoyable evening. Hope you come back again soon.
